What theoretical and practical implications does the Catalan example have for Spain and Europe? A discussion at the Danube Institute.
Catalonia has enjoyed the widest autonomy in Europe and – along with South Tirol – has served as an ideal model for ethnic Hungarian initiatives in neighbouring countries. Recent developments in Catalonia, however, have caused a major setback for the cause of autonomy. What theoretical and practical implications does the Catalan example have for Spain and Europe?

To discuss these questions, the Danube Institute hosted:

• H.E. D. José Ángel López Jorrin, Ambassador of Spain to Hungary,

• Zoltán Kántor, Director of the Research Institute for Hungarian Communities Abroad (Nemzetpolitikai Kutatóintézet) and,

• Sándor Gyula Nagy, senior research fellow at the Institute of Foreign Afairs and Trade

Date: Wednesday, November 29,

Time: 16:30 - 18:00

Place: Danube Institute, 24 Eötvös utca, Budapest 1067
